 Brand New Your Favorite Weapon

Hey, this is pretty cool. I took me a while to “get into” this record but now that I’ve heard it a couple of times, I’m starting to appreciate it more and more. One can describe “Your Favorite Weapon” as a journey that takes your through every corner of the punk-genre. And the trip starts with “The Shower Scene”, an indie-oriented track that reminds me of Seaweed and Samiam. Further down the road then, “Sudden Death In Carolina” sounds like early Alkaline Trio. “Failure By Design” is more powerpop oriented, think Bloodhound Gang or Alien Ant Farm. You want something bouncy in the vein of New Found Glory? Skip to “Secondary”. You’ll even come across two acoustic tracks. This record does not have an ultra-polished sound, it has a lot of rough edges, and that’s what makes it so neat. Brand New sounds very pure, very authentic.

This cd is totally rad is so fun to listen to over and over again. I really like the words, they make me laugh my ass off, cause sometimes I wish that my ex-girlfriend would die.

It's well worth it to get this album. It's pretty solid all the way through. I've gotten the chance to see them twice and they put on a damn good show.

hands down one of the best pop/punk cd ever made. these guys make the boring genre of pop/punk not only fun again, but intelligent too.

I Believe it is also a great record, I'm able to listen to it over and over without getting bored with it, go out and buy the cd if you haven't already, later.

OK, this album was decent it sure beat out about every single pop-punk album ever, but then you have to compare it to the new album and the new album males this one look really bad. They changed everything for the better. Its a whole different style too. I suggest that everyone should check out the new album "Deja Entendu" instead of this one. But this album is definitely much better than bands who play music similar to this album.
