 The Silence 2003-07-17

Some of the more frequent visitors may have been wondering why I have been so quiet over the last few weeks. Well... I have been sorting my record collection (that was piling up here) with a neat program called CaTraxx. Check it out, it's really amazing what you can do with it.

In the end I came up with some amazing statistics: 1.164 discs, 16.288 tracks and 759h 10m 30s worth of punkmusic, which means it would take me more than a month to listen to all that stuff if I'd play it day and night. Have you been wondering why that CD you sent over to punkupdates.com hasn't been reviewed? I guess there's your answer. Hey, and there's not one mp3-file in that list.

If you want to know what I've been listening to over the last 15 years or so (before it was just tapes and vinyl that aren't included here), check this Excel-file. Let me know what I should still get.

It's a start...
I really hope I can do some more reviews though for all these bands and labels that have been sending me their stuff for reviewing. I want to appologize again for not keeping up reviewing all of them. If I didn't reply to your requests if I received a package, just check the list and you'll know. I'm sure I won't be able to review everything, but I'll do my very best.

Oh, and please... NO REQUESTS for sending mp3's.

you shouldn't feel so bad about it...I mean, since you have a day job they can't really expect you to review everything they send you...

doesn't matter.
they can't accuse you of not giving the less known stuff a chance.
and those bands didn't make it big because of their short skirts and pretty smiles, of course. except for midtown maybe.

Yeah, I know it's their most poppy album, but that's just my honest opinion. I also like a lot of their other albums of course, but it's just that I always put on this one at the start of summer. It's the ideal album to get me in that "sunny" mood.
